Mary Huynh
Hi, my name is Mary. I'm mom to our warrior princess Lilah, who is currently in remission from Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). Lilah was diagnosed with AML at 13 months old here at Cook Children's in 2022. She spent six months of her life growing up inside the hospital walls, so we are very familiar with how quickly life can turn upside down. She received many treatments during her time in inpatient care, ranging from chemotherapy to bone marrow transplant and everything in between. There were dark times and there were happy times. We laughed, we cried (a lot) but most importantly, we fought. Together with her nurses, doctors, physical therapist, child life specialist and art/music therapist, our baby flourished and beat cancer. Now that Lilah is home spending some much needed bonding time with her twin brother, we want to turn our energy into giving back some of the love we received while in active treatment. We understand how scary it can be after receiving a life-altering diagnosis. We want other families walking this journey to know they are not alone. You can and will get through this time. Never give up hope. We would love to connect with you and answer any questions you may have. You can do this!
