Natalie Dorsey
Hi, my name is Natalie, and I am Mom to Bryan. We are no strangers to a long medical journey. My son was born prematurely at 23 weeks. We spent 216 days in the NICU. After our NICU stay, we continued to have regular visits with several specialists. I recognize the challenges of parenting in a medical environment. The first several months of my son's life were in the hospital, and I am forever grateful for the staff and parent mentors who supported me during that difficult time. Connecting with other parents who have walked this road before me was comforting. It was a reminder that I was not alone on our journey. I hope that if you are feeling overwhelmed you will consider reaching out to connect with a parent mentor. If you would like to learn more about connecting with a parent mentor during or after your hospital stay, please email parents@cookchildrens.org.
