Samuel Suldocan
Hey! My name is Samuel, and I am husband to Kathy Grace and father to Malachi, Zechariah, and soon we'll have an another addition to the family! Malachi is almost four and Zechariah is almost two!
During Zechariah's 20-week anatomy scan, we learned that he had several markers for a chromosome disorder. This disorder caused his pregnancy to be high risk and left my wife in the hospital for a month with many near emergency C-sections as Zechariah kept losing oxygen. He was born a preemie weighing only three pounds. He was instantly rushed to Cook Children's to be intubated among other things. After some blood work, they found out that he has a rare genetic disorder that eventually led him to have open-heart surgery, a trach and ventilator, learning disabilities and some organ issues. The seven-month journey in the NICU and TCU was tough. It pushed Kathy Grace and I more than anything we'd faced before and caused our first born, Malachi, to regress in a couple developmental skills. BUT, by relying on each other and the help of our faith, family and friends, we were able to make it through and have Zechariah come home!
I would love to answer any questions you have and to help however I can. Our journey was only possible because of the immense support that we had. Please do not try to do this on your own.
