Education
Abuse hurts us all. Becoming aware of abuse in our communities is the first step toward stopping it. That's why our CARE Team offers community-based training on the medical aspects of child abuse and neglect for health professionals and others, such as law enforcement and child protection workers. We also provide training to various community agencies on the dynamics of child sexual and physical abuse and related topics. We are committed to the prevention of child maltreatment. CARE Team employees provide training on topics such as abusive head trauma prevention through The Period of Purple Crying, as well as child sexual abuse prevention and minor sex trafficking through Stewards of Children-Darkness to Light, a collaborative effort with Alliance for Children.
For more information on scheduling community education and training, call Cook Children's CARE Team at 682-885-3953.
