JOY Campaign
November 2022 | In 2021, it was clear the pandemic was taking a toll on the mental well-being of children and teens. Cook Children's saw a record number of patients after attempting suicide and we knew we needed to do more to help.
To raise awareness of this critical issue, we created the Joy campaign to bring awareness to mental health issues affecting children and teens.
The Joy campaign is an acronym that stands for:
Just breathe.
Open up.
You matter.
The program started with a series of online articles addressing mental health concerns and now includes a weekly podcast covering such topics as suicide prevention, over-the-counter medications, bullying and mass shootings.
