Cook Children's Medical Center team is made up of physicians and nurses who are very experienced in pediatric emergency care. Additionally, the emergency departments are supported by Teddy Bear Transport, one of the busiest transport programs in the U.S.. More than 3,500 children are transported to Cook Children's Medical Center annually, most for critical care. Transport vehicles include a helicopter*, jet*, fixed-wing plane* and five ambulances. Each are equipped to transport critical care patients and feature pediatric-oriented technology.
Cook Children's Virtual Health services can bring outpatient specialty care closer to home, connect you to your pediatrician after hours, help a new mom with lactation concerns or questions, and even make it possible for your child to see a pediatrician during a visit to the school nurse.
