Endocrinology

Knowing that every child's life is sacred, it is the promise of Cook Children's to improve the health of every child in our region through the prevention and treatment of illness, disease and injury. Because of this, each member of our team is dedicated to improving the health of all children affected by endocrine disorders and diabetes through patient management and by continuing education for the patient, family and community. Cook Children's Endocrine Department is comprised of board certified pediatric endocrinologists, certified pediatric nurse practitioners, certified diabetic educators, psychologists and other pediatric specialists. This team creates individualized treatment plans incorporating the latest technological advances in diagnosis and care. We actively participate in clinical trials sponsored by pharmaceutical companies, collaborative organizations, and other hospitals. Several of these hospitals and organizations include:

  • AbbVie Pharmaceuticals
  • Familial Hypercholesterolemia Foundation
  • Novo Nordisk, Inc.
  • Spruce Biosciences
  • Zealand Pharmaceuticals

In addition to participation in sponsored clinical trials and membership to collaborative groups, the Endocrine Department at Cook Children's is dedicated to contributing to the growing knowledge of patient care and delivery by fostering quality improvement and internally-developed research initiatives. The patients we see at Cook Children's are unique, and the team strives to provide the best care possible through internal review and investigations. The Endocrine Department at Cook Children's Medical Center is interested in a range of topics relating to the care provided to our patients. Some of the group's research interests include:
