Endowed Chair: The Center for Motion Analysis led by Pamela Sherman, M.D.
Cook Children's has awarded an Endowed Chair to Pamela Sherman, M.D., to establish a dedicated upper extremity motion analysis laboratory. The Center for Motion Analysis is a pioneering initiative, that will use state-of-the-art motion capture technology for comprehensive evaluation of pediatric patients with neuromuscular, orthopedic and other impairments. This will then facilitate the development of targeted treatment strategies, prediction of treatment responses and innovation in therapeutic techniques. As the only facility in the region specializing in the analysis of children's upper extremity movement, the center will enhance clinical awareness, improve functional outcomes, and advance research through the identification of subtle movement patterns crucial for surgical planning and non-surgical interventions.

Meet Dr. Sherman
Dr. Sherman has dedicated her career to helping patients return to independence by helping them regain the use of their hands and upper extremities.

David Farbo, Ph.D., Research Scientist
I was originally born in Buffalo, New York before moving to Gardner, Massachusetts when I was in middle school. I then went on to receive my bachelor's degree in physical education from Bridgewater State University in 2014. After graduation, I moved to Fort Worth to obtain a master's degree in exercise psychology in 2017, and then a Ph.D. in health sciences in 2022 from Texas Christian University (TCU). During my time as a Ph.D. student, I worked as a research associate for an intervention at TCU which increased time for recess and outdoor play during the school day for elementary students. My research focused on the effects of this intervention on physical activity and body composition. Currently at Cook Children's, I work as the Research Scientist for the Center for Motion Analysis with Pamela Sherman, M.D. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my wife, traveling, watching sports, and music festivals.
