"Colors of Hope," being the first CD of music and poetry produced at Cook Children's, really set the template for the diverse talents of our patients to be expressed through a wide palette of sonic colors. Some musicians claim to "see" colors when certain chords or notes are played, often referred to as synesthesia. The poems (and their musical backdrops) interspersed throughout "Colors" were our attempt at aural synesthesia; painting the emotions of these patients with a specific aural hue. This project is a mix of both younger and older (teen) voices, highlighting the array of pigments that can be combined to form a rich tapestry of hope!
