Going the Distance for Our Patients and Families
October 2022 | As a parent, you want the absolute best care for your child, no matter how far you have to travel. That's exactly why more families from out of state, and even out of the country, are making the journey to Cook Children's.
To help these families feel more at home, Cook Children's offers an attentive and multilingual Global Health Services team dedicated solely to them. These care coordinators' goal is to make the families' experience as smooth and worry-free as possible, both inside and outside the medical center. We not only take care of the child; we take care of everything, providing support and guidance through each stage of their child's medical journey.
To date, our Global Health Services team has assisted families from states such as Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Kansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, North Carolina and Oklahoma. We've also cared for families from more than 20 countries for unique diagnoses, such as genetic epilepsy, hyperinsulinism, cerebral palsy and movement disorders, spina bifida, congenital adrenal hyperplasia, scoliosis and spine deformities and injuries, hand and upper extremity conditions, CAR T-cell therapy for childhood leukemia and advanced endoscopy for children with rare or complicated gastrointestinal conditions.
