Newborn Care Resources
Hello parenthood! Your bundle of joy has arrived, and so have about a million questions. Let's get started with the important things to know in the first few weeks. You'll find answers to questions about feeding, sleeping, burping, daily care, health issues, what's normal, and when you should call your doctor. You'll even find step-by-step instructions for diapering, nose cleaning, and why dental care begins before your baby even has a first tooth.
Insuring your newborn
For the health of your baby and to make sure unexpected charges don't hit your budget, be sure to enroll your baby as soon as possible after the baby's birth. Most insurance plans automatically cover newborns as an extension of the mother's insurance for a limited number of days beginning from birth to, typically, 30 days. However, this varies by insurance provider (it can be anywhere from 24 hours to 31 days) so it's best to enroll your baby right away. If you miss the baby's enrollment period you won't be able to cover your baby until your insurance provider's next open enrollment date.
